Page 1 of 8 On June 26th my Dad and I hiked the Spring Valley Trail. This is a short trail (2.3 miles one way) located northwest of Lake Pleasant. The trail winds it's way through the desert and in and out of washes. In general the trail follows the base of a set of mountains heading southwesterly.
We tried to start the hike as early as 7am but we really didn't get on the trail till 8:30. This made it a much hotter hike than we wanted. But we survived. I took a lot of pictures along the way.

This first picture is taken from where we parked the car. It is a view across the Castle Creek. The trailhead is located pretty much straight ahead.

Here's another view of the trailhead and the wash.

Part way through the wash I took this picture looking "upstream". It looks like this creek hasn't had any water in it for a while.

This is the trailhead. We filled out the registry in the box. The last group on this trail was the previous weekend. It was some hiking group from Anthem, I think.

The trail starts here. It is a short, steep climb and then fairly flat most of the rest of the way.
