After Edmund

I love finding new musical surprises.  It is exciting to find some band who you've never heard of, pop in their CD, and be quite pleased with their music.  I've had a few of these experiences of the last few months.  After Edmund is just one of the new bands I've stumbled upon.  Great stuff.  The best description of their sound is anthemic modern pop rock.  Think of a beefier version of U2 with vocals more like Switchfoot.

It's hard for me to pick out any particular song or two as a highlight.  The CD alternates between rockers like the opening track Thank God and mellow songs like To See You Leave.  The solid musicianship is clear throughout all of the tracks.  Nice application of synth parts along with tasty bass work make it a joy to listen to.

These guys have been going strong as an indie band for years.  This first venture into the labelled world seems to be going well.  I hope they succeed and stick around for years to come!
