The first 12 Stones song I heard was on a compilation CD I bought a few weeks ago. I like to buy the compilation CDs just to get a bit of an idea what the different bands on the CD sound like. Most of the new music I've purchased was the result of something I heard on a compilation.
Back to 12 Stones and Potter's Field.
At first take I don't really like this CD that much. It's ok but nothing strikes me as great. But this CD also has that feel that makes me think that over time I might start to like it. This has happend to me on a couple CDs and I recognize the same thoughts here.
Musically 12 Stones sounds a bit like Creed. They are similar in intensity and arrangement. But the lead vocals are quite a bit different. I can't quite place the singer. He's got a 90's rock star voice but he gets some of the metal whining into it too.
It's not as bad as I make it sound...
So it's not going to be at the top of my play list right now but I will definitely keep my eyes out for new releases by this group.
