ImageThe first week of May we spent in Lincoln City Oregon enjoying a family vacation.  Lincoln City is one of our favorite locations on the Oregon Coast.  Now that we live in Arizona it's a bit hard to get there but we made the extra effor this year and were well rewarded with a great time! The rest of this article gives an overview of our trip.  I've also included some pictures with descriptions.
The picture here shows everyone except me standing outside of the Oregon Aquarium.  Ah.  But I'm getting ahead of myself.
We started in Phoenix on Friday afternoon with grand intentions of making it to Salem, OR by last Saturday night.  A key point to this strategy was to make it as far north on I-5 as possible Friday night while the kids were sleeping.  Due to sick kids and sick parents we weren't able to make it as far as we wanted.  Despite delays we made it into Salem by Sunday morning.  After a brief visit with family there we headed over to the coast.
For the week we were there we mostly just relaxed.  We went down the beach several times, went shopping at the outlet mall, visited most of the used bookstores, found the best outdoor play structure in the world, and went to the Oregon Aquarium in Newport.
And now for some pictures.
This first batch of pictures show our time on the beach.  There was a set of stairs we could climb down to get to the beach.  But this location was also one of the two locations in Licoln City that allows cars to drive onto the beach.
