Mamma Mia!

So here's the story.  Years ago Donna Sheridan (Meryl Streep) broke off a serious relationship.  In the midst of the heartache she bounced around through a couple other guys.  And wouldn't you know it but about nine months later she found herself to be a pround new, and single, mom of a wonderful daughter.  Fast forward and now that daughter is engaged to be married.  Every daughter wants her dad to give her away but Sophie, the daughter, doesn't know who her dad is.  So she invites all three of the candidates to their Greek villa.

Keep in mind that this movie is a musical.  That means that there is singing and dancing as an integral part of the movie.  Not only that, but the songs are all Abba songs.  So break out your polyester suits and mirror balls cause it's 70's music all night long.  But it's fun.

I'm not really a musical fan so I wasn't expecting much.  However, I was pleasantly surprised.  The story is cute, the actors are funny, and the songs are campy.  But still, it makes for a fun 2 hours.

Oh, one caution, Pierce Brosnan is not a good singer.  Just be prepared.
