After we signed all the papers with Morrison Homes to get our house started, they started leveling the lot. Once the lot was leveled we had to wait for the city of Phoenix to issue a building permit. The city needed to make sure that the plot plan conformed to city codes. I think that Morrison Homes also had to run some preliminary mortgage numbers to make sure that we at least had a chance of qualifying for the loan.
At this time Victoria and the family were still living in Oregon. Each day, on my way home from work, I stopped by the job site to see if any progress was made.
On June 23rd I was excited to find that the city had issued the construction permit. The picture here is a photo of the building permit. Once this was posted construction started right away.
Next steps: outlining the property, ditching, and post-tensioning cables. |
