Lately I've come to notice a trend that has been developing in my outlook on life. One can think of how they view the world in terms of a like to dislike ratio. By that I mean the ratio of how many things the person likes compared to how many things they dislike. When I was younger my like/dislike ratio was very high. I liked a whole lot more things than I disliked. But the ratio has been dropping very quickly over the years. I'm not sure why.
And why does this matter? Well, if I continue on this track I'm just going to end up as a cranky old man. At some point my like/dislike ratio will approach zero, meaning I don't like anything. I would much rather have a very high ratio when I'm older. It makes life less stressful and makes it more fun for other people (like my relatives) to be around. Now I need to figure out how to change it.
