I'm back in Phoenix after my trip to Oregon. I've returned from the land of clouds, cold, and rain to the land of sun and desert. The trip to Oregon was wonderful. I had the best time in the world there. I met with lots of friends and drove though all the old neighborhoods. After two and a half years not a lot has changed so everything was still quite familiar. I even parked in the same parking spot when going to all the same stores I used to go to.
During my stay there I inadvertantly ran into half a dozen people I knew (in addition to the 10 or so I was trying to meet). I guess that's what happens when you've lived in a small community for 14 years. You start to know enough people that you meet them everywhere you go. I've heard Portland described as "a big city with a small town feel". I'd have to agree with that description.
