Decide and Do Phases Print

Lately I've been spending a lot of effort trying to organize all of the things that I need or want to do. My efforts have been applied both at work and at home. Recently I realized that it is effective for me to have a "decide" phase and a "do" phase and to not mix the two. During the "decide" phase I decide what to do and during the "do" phase I actually do it. I know, seems simple. But I surprise myself when I see how often I am knocked out of a "do" phase by starting some more "deciding".
This is similar to an idea I had several months ago of working on just one thing at a time. The idea was that once I start on a task, work on just that till it is done. Then switch to the next task. The "decide" and "do" phases would be a part of one task but once the "do" started I wouldn't go to another "decide" until I was done.
Well, I'm done with this task now. On to something else...
