Recently our dishwasher started leaking water from the bottom. It wasn't leaking through the door (a common problem) but instead the water was somehow getting out through the bottom of the basin that hold water while washing. Fortunately it is covered under our new home warranty. The repairman came out and within about 15 seconds he knew the problem. Apparently this model of dishwasher has a known problem that causes the bottom of the tank to melt. The deformation of the floor of the tank creates a hole.
The repairman called Whirlpool and they are sending out a replacement dishwasher. Sounds good to me. Even though it is a pain to have to deal with broken appliances, Morrison Homes has done a wonderful job of taking care of this issue. Whirlpool was very good about replacing it and setting it all up.
