This last weekend I was supposed to hike with my brother, brother-in-laws, and dad. We were planning to go to Yosemite for three days (two nights). At the last minute I had to pull out though. It wasn't going to work for me to go. So I was disappointed all weekend about it but glad for the guys who did get to go. Sunday night I called them to see how it went. They all had a great time.
The hike involved a lot of climbing and at high altitudes. I believe that most of the hike was above 10000 feet. My brother told me that at that altitude you really felt the lower oxygen content. It was also quite cold. Saturday night it got down to the low 20's at night. The worst part was that they weren't allowed to build a campfire where they were. So they couldn't do much to keep warm.
They all had fun. I wish I had been able to go. But I will next year. Don't know where we're hike but I plan to be there.
