I've been pondering this idea for a while. At this point I'm a Windows PC user. I've been using Windows based PC's since Windows came out. I'm also quite comfortable using unix/linux systems. I've been working in unix/linux since 1992. More and more software developers that I know are switching away from Windows PCs to Macs. They say that the Mac is much more stable. Not as much junk to mess with. So I'm considering making the leap.
I like the idea of a computer that just works. That's the Apple marketing pitch and it seems to be the general user experience. Although I've been working with PCs for many years, I still don't like messing with the system to get things to work. I don't like finding and installing drivers. I don't like tweaking system settings to get stuff to work. I just like to use a computer. So maybe the Mac is the thing for me. It will be a while before I make the transition though. I have to get me and my family settled into a nice house in Oregon first.
