The Next Chapter Print

Today was my last day working at GoDaddy Software in Scottsdale, AZ. It was an interesting place to work, to say the least. I learned a lot there. Some of the knowledge I gained was about specific software technologies but most of it was about software development in general. Many of the lessons were lessons in the negative (what not to do) but there were some good things too.
I'm not going to gripe and moan and whine about my time there (I've done enough of that talking to friends). It was a learning experience. It was where I was supposed to be for that time. It gave me a new perspective on my career. It gave me something to look back at and say "I'm glad that's over".
Despite the professional challenges I made quite a few good friends working at GoDaddy. I will miss them. I will miss the interactions with all of those guys (and gals). And I do wish them all the best of luck with their continued efforts at GoDaddy.
I am now moving back to work at the same company I was working at before, Cypress Semiconductor. I'm very much looking forward to getting back into that office and working with those people.
Most significant is the fact that my family and I are moving back to the Pacific Northwest. I think we have finished with the Arizona Experiment. We now know what it's like to live in a hot and dry place with bushes for trees and rock piles for mountains. The PNW is in our blood and we are excited to be heading back.
