One of my co-workers has the job of calling prospective customers and validating some information. I overheard the following conversation.
Ruth: "Hello, this is Ruth with So And So Company. Is Jimmy Wong available?"
Pause while the person responded.
Ruth: "Yes, we are calling for verification of information. Is Jimmy Wong available"?
Another pause.
Ruth: "Ok. Thanks."
Then after haning up Ruth says to no one in particular.
"Hmm. I guess that's not the Wong number."
