One of my co-workers has the job of calling prospective customers and validating some information. I overheard the following conversation.
Ruth: "Hello, this is Ruth with So And So Company. Is Jimmy Wong available?"
Pause while the person responded.

Why I Don't Like Lightrail |

When I was living in Oregon there were several attempts by the City of Portland to build a lightrail system. Despite the fact that most people didn't want a lightrail, the City succeeded in getting it built. Now that I live in Arizona I'm running into the same problem. The City of Phoenix wants to build a lightrail.
I think lightrails are a bad idea pretty much all of the time. But lots of people don't really think about it. So maybe if I explain myself a little bit I'll convince others to dislike lightrail as much as me. And then maybe cities won't waste tax dollars on these things. |

The living room in my parent's house, in Tramonto, Arizona, has large west facing windows. The view is fairly unobstructed as it looks out over the Sonoran desert. This view provides lots of opportunity for taking some great sunset pictures. Below are some pictures I took about a week ago. Since my house has a similar west view I expect to have more opportunities for pictures when we move in in a few weeks. The pictures shown below have been edited for size. I have these available in hi-res. If you want any of them just let me know and I'll email you the hi-res (2048x1536) photo.

Politicians are notoriously hard to nail down. Some are worse than others and it even seems that those who are inclined to give straight answers don't last long in politics. Maybe it is the nature of the beast. However, voters need to have straight answers in order to make the best decision. The more important the election, the more people want to have solid information. |
